Dental Assistants Certification

Dental Assistant certification is an important step on the path to employment. Qualified applicants are evaluated by the Dental Assisting National Board and is needed in over thirty states. The certification exam is open to dental assistants who have completed an American Dental Association training course or by having two years full time / four years part time experience. Part of the certification for dental assistants also includes knowing and being licensed to give cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. The certificate lasts for one year, after which time it needs to be renewed. For states that do not use the DANB path, they often offer their own competency based test for dental assistants.
